Technology & Innovation

On Saturday 27 September 2025, Maastricht University invites alumni and professionals to join UM Connect Day — an inspiring day of knowledge exchange, interaction, and networking. This year’s central theme is Technology & Innovation and how these developments shape our work, our society, and our future.

Lifelong Development

UM Connect Day showcases how UM Academy supports professionals in their lifelong learning journey. The breakout sessions offer concise, practice-oriented learning experiences that can be applied directly in your own professional context. Whether you want to deepen your knowledge, acquire new skills, or simply explore fresh perspectives, there is something for everyone.

Breakout sessions by our educational institutes

In addition to the plenary keynote, UM Connect Day offers a rich programme of breakout sessions delivered by lecturers, researchers, and alumni from various UM educational institutes. These sessions provide an opportunity to gain new knowledge in a short time, develop practical skills, and be inspired by the latest insights.

Topics range from using AI to enhance language skills and negotiation techniques, to the role of digitalisation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leadership in times of climate change, and innovative applications of data and technology across sectors. The sessions are designed not only to inform, but also to spark reflection and action.
