The Brightlands Campuses are innovation and knowledge centres that foster collaboration between the business, academic and government sectors in Limburg. Each campus has a specific focus:

• The Brightlands Smart Services Campus (Heerlen) promotes technological and economic development in Limburg by stimulating innovation, collaboration and knowledge exchange in the fields of smart services, data science, artificial intelligence, blockchain and other smart technologies. The campus is home to partnerships between academic institutions, companies and startups.
• The Brightlands Chemelot Campus (Geleen) focuses on various fields in chemistry and materials sciences, including high-performance materials, biobased and circular chemistry, and process technology.
• The Brightlands Maastricht Health Campus focuses on a wide range of themes in healthcare and the life sciences, including regenerative medicine, imaging, biomaterials, health data and preventive healthcare.
• The Brightlands Campus Greenport Venlo focuses on the agrifood sector, in particular healthy and safe food, innovative cultivation techniques, nutritional logistics and the biobased economy.
